07/08 Success at a Glance

• 11,000 non-perishable food items collected for the Las Vegas Rescue Mission
• $50,000 in LMCA financial aid and scholarships given to current students
• LMCA varsity basketball team was the first Henderson athletic team to take state title in 49 years
• $60,000 in collegiate scholarships received by the graduating class of 2008
• LMCA student won the National Daughters of the American Revolution writing contest out of 55 national finalists.
• 4 athletic teams were league and/or tournament champions
• $8,000 in box office sales for first all school musical stage production OZ
• 32 units of blood donated during our second annual Blood Drive
• 48 students placed 1st-3rd in academic competitions last year

Academics

The LMCA yearbook received awards from the Association of Christian Schools, International for the past 3 years.

In 2008, LMCA placed first in the Rocky Mountain region. LMCA is one of only four nursery through 12th grade schools in the Las Vegas area and one of only two in Henderson.

Technology

LMCA is the only school in the Las Vegas area to provide all of our high school and 6th-8th grade students with the Apple One–to-One program, featuring a laptop for every student.

Alumni

93% of alumni have completed or are currently attending Christian, public, and Ivy League colleges.

Athletics

LMCA offers a variety of competitive sports elementary through high school.

LMCA Athletic Director accepted the role of NIAA president (1A Division) for the 2008-2009 school year and was voted Coach of the Year 2007-2008.

LMCA senior was awarded Top 10 Student Athlete out of all Nevada public and private high schools.

Missions

LMCA staff and students served globally on 28 outreach trips since 1999 including Costa Rica, Hong Kong, Romania, Peru, Guatemala, Canada, Zambia and Mexico.

LMCA staff and students were nationally and locally recognized for their efforts in Florida after Hurricane Charlie and in Louisiana after Hurricane Katrina.

LMCA’s 3rd Week Ministries program serves the community at local schools, the Women’s Resource Center and the LV Rescue Mission every month.

General

40% of LMCA families hold government jobs including law enforcement, fire & rescue and public education.

LMCA senior was awarded Top 10 Student Athlete out of all Nevada public and private high schools.
